The University of Essex basketball team, Rebels, are holding a memorial gameday today celebrating the lives of four students who were killed when their vehicle collided with a building.

Daljang Wol and TJ Hibbert, both first team players, and Makyle Bayley and Eva Darold-Tchikaya, all died at the scene on Magdalen Street, Colchester, on the first of February.

In a statement, the team said: "We are celebrating the lives of four beloved members of the Rebels family with a Memorial Gameday."

"No words can describe the sadness we feel after the deaths of NBL D1 Men's players, Daljang "DJ" Wol and TJ Hibbert, and University of Essex students Eva Darold-Tchikaya and Makyle Bayley. "

"In their honour, our Rebels teams have chosen to continue their seasons, and we will come together as a community to remember them. "

"We invite you to join us for our Memorial Gameday on Saturday 15 February to celebrate their lives, their legacy, and the impact they've had on all of us."

The doors open at 4pm at the Essex Sport Arena.
