The number of dog -related deaths and injuries is beginning to reach record levels according to experts.

Last year alone there were 10 fatal attacks.

Katie Blackman, founder of Katie and Friends Pet Services, set up her business in 2013 when her own dog Kie struggled to cope in kennels.

We spoke to Katie about the increase in dog related deaths.

“I think the lockdown was massive, the amount of people that took dogs on.”

“People then went back to work and wondered what to do with their dogs “

“I feel that the animal laws are not strong enough”

“I do think it’s down to responsible breeding”

Katie provides services to Waltham Abbey and all surrounding areas within a 10-mile radius in Essex.

“I would like to stress as someone that has worked with dogs for over 15 years, you can’t just categorise dogs either.”

“I don’t like the generalisation sometimes saying, ‘this and that breed’ because we have worked with them and sometimes, they are fantastic.”

Katie and Friends Pet Services are based in Essex and the London area.
