Woman charged in connection with fatal Great Oakley crash

A woman died following the incident at the weekend

Police have charged a woman in connection with a fatal crash in Great Oakley.

It follows an incident on Harwich Road on Saturday (24 April) where another woman lost her life.

20-year-old Hivda Altuntop, of High Street in Harwich, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Causing death by dangerous driving
  • Aggravated vehicle taking
  • Failing to stop after a collision
  • Failing to report a collision
  • Driving with eyesight which do not comply with requirements
  • Driving while uninsured
  • Possession of a knife
  • Possession of a Class B drug

She appeared at Colchester Magistrates' Court today (26 April) and was remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on 24 May.
