Essex man found guilty of murdering girlfriend
Madison Wright's body was found in Wat Tyler Country Park on July 30
A man from Essex has been found guilty of murdering and hiding the body of his girlfriend in July last year.
After hearing over two weeks of evidence it took the jury just a few hours to find Gary Bennett guilty of murdering Madison Wright.
Ms Wright was last seen alive on 22 July, according to Essex Police. Her car was found in Basildon four days later, before her body was discovered in Wat Tyler Country Park on July 30.
In an earlier tribute released through police, Ms Wright’s family described her as a “happy, gentle, thoughtful and kind person”.
They said: “Our family has suffered a loss that is unimaginable and irreparable, and the void Madison leaves will never be filled.
“Her life has been stolen from not just her but from all of us.
“Her memory however will live on through her son, whom we cherish dearly.”
Bennett will be sentenced at a later date.
