Fourth death linked to Class A Drugs in Colchester

Seven people have now been arrested in connection with the investigation, with five of them charged

A fourth death in Colchester has been connected to the supply of Class A drugs, according to Essex Police.

The announcement follows the death of a man who fell ill inside a property in central Colchester.

Emergency services were called shortly before 7 a.m. on Thursday, 23 May, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The latest incident is part of an ongoing investigation into the supply of Class A drugs in Colchester, which has already been linked to three other deaths and multiple non-fatal overdoses.

As part of this investigation, seven people have been arrested, and five individuals have been charged.

Two men were arrested in planned warrants on Thursday, 23 May.

A 30-year-old man from southeast London was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, while an 18-year-old man was arrested in east London. Significant items were seized from both premises.

George Morrison, 30, of Croydon Road, London, SE20, and Joshua Walker, 18, of Hamilton Road, London, E15, have been charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

They are scheduled to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today, Friday, 24 May.

Three other individuals have previously been charged in connection with the investigation. Sabrino Hajderaj, 20, of Sunny Bank, London, faces charges of possessing a bladed article in a public place, possession with intent to supply heroin, and possession with intent to supply crack cocaine. Bryan Tegunde, 19, of Cambridge Park Road, London, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine. Pharrell Douglas, 19, of Court Farm Road, London, SE9, faces charges of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, possession of cannabis, and acquiring criminal property.
