Flood alert issued for areas in North Essex

The Environment Agency is warning people to "be prepared"

A flood alert has been issued for areas in North Essex by the Environment Agency.

It is in force across the River Stour from Sudbury to Stratford St Mary and Dedham.

The agency has said flooding is possible for places including Henny Street, Lamarsh, Bures, Nayland and Stratford St Mary.

They are warning people to "be prepared".

The alert states "some minor flooding to low lying land, roads and riverside areas is likely overnight tonight" (28 January), with the most affected areas being Sky Hall Hill Road, Wick Road and Lower Farm Road around Boxted Mill.
