Dozens of firefighters tackle large building fire in Essex
People nearby are being told to close windows and doors
A building has caught fire in Essex this afternoon.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service are dealing with the fire in Stambridge.
Large plumes of smoke can be seen rising through the top of the building.
A spokesperson for Essex Fire Service said: "We currently have around 50 firefighters at the scene of the large fire in Stambridge.
"The fire involves a number of industrial units; firefighters are fighting the fire and protecting the currently unaffected units.
"If you live nearby, please close your windows and doors; the fire is producing a lot of smoke."
