Firefighters free two people after crash in Manningtree

Firefighters have freed two people following a crash in Manningtree today (21 April).

It happened in the town's High Street at around 11.40am.

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service were called by Essex Police to a single vehicle collision.

Crews from Manningtree and Colchester attended the scene and found two people trapped in a 4x4.

They had to use specialist equipment, including electric saws and hydraulic lifting equipment, to free the casualties who were left in the care of the ambulance service.
