Three flats in Clacton have been left inhabitable after a fire ripped through them.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service were called to Ellis Road at around 3:30pm on Monday (31 March) after a resident saw smoke.
Crews from Clacton, Weeley, Frinton, Colchester, Tollesbury and Colchester's Aerial Ladder Platform attended.
Station Manager Ryan Ainger said: "Crews were faced with a developing fire which had spread to the voids in wall spaces and the ceiling.
"It was challenging for crews to identify where the fire was. Multiple crews wearing Breathing Apparatus worked really hard to remove sections of the ceiling and walls and extinguish the fire."
Two people were treated at the scene, one for smoke inhalation and the other for minor burns.
Four other flats have also been damaged by the fire which has been recorded as an accidental electrical fire.
