A fire has broken out at Meadow Park retirement village in Braintree.

Essex fire and rescue were called at 1.55pm finding a semi-detached bungalow well developed when crews arrived.

It has been left badly damaged, and three nearby properties were affected by heat and fire.

The fire service confirmed that no one was injured and all residents are safe.

A firefighter said, “Our crews worked hard in difficult conditions to stop the fire from spreading further.”

Fire Investigation Officers remain at the scene to establish the cause of the fire.
