Have your say on crime and anti-social behaviour in Colchester
The Fear of Crime survey is running for four weeks
People in Colchester can now have their say on crime and anti-social behaviour.
An online survey has been launched by the borough council, which would like to understand people’s feelings around public safety.
The results of the Fear of Crime survey, which is running for four weeks, will reportedly help inform future priorities and actions in the borough.
The 25-question survey covers several crime and public safety concerns, both real and perceived.
Councillor Beverley Oxford, Portfolio Holder for Communities, said:
"Fear of Crime means different things to different people, this could include not feeling safe in the community, fear of burglary or possible violent or physical harm.
"Being a victim of any form of crime can be a traumatic experience, and fearing crime, even if unfounded, can also cause stress and anxiety and affect mental and physical wellbeing.
"That is why we are keen to hear your views on issues of local concern and your experience of crime and anti-social behaviour.
"We hope to use the results of the survey to help inform our future priorities and tackle a range of public safety issues when they arise."
The Fear of Crime survey can be found online, here.
Paper copies are also be available at Leisure World; Shrub End Community Centre; Kingsland Church, and C360 Community Café (Primary Care Centre).
Completed surveys can be submitted in the ballot boxes provided at each location.
