Cyclist dies in crash in Fairstead

A car and two cyclists were involved in the collision

A man in his 60s has died in a crash in Fairstead which involved a car and two cyclists.

Police were called to reports of a crash on Fairstead Road shortly before 10.30am yesterday (Sunday 9th January).

One of the cyclists was pronounced dead at the scene - the other suffered injuries to his face.

A 65 year-old man from South Woodham Ferrers has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, and he is currently in custody.
