Family pays tribute to Loughton murder victim

Police have also named him as 60 year-old John Bain

The family of a man who died after suffering serious injuries in an incident in Loughton has paid tribute to a “beautiful and kind-hearted soul”.

Police are continuing to investigate reports of a serious assault in Willingale Road, on Wednesday 3 July.

After a call at around 10.20pm, officers attended an address and found a man had suffered serious injuries.

He was taken on to hospital, but died on Thursday 4 July.

Although formal identification has yet to take place, officers are now in a position to name him as 60-year-old John Bain.

His family continues to be supported by specialist officers.

"sadly missed by us all"

In a statement, his family said:

“Our brother, John, will be remembered by us all as a beautiful and kind-hearted soul.

"He was known as Johnny to his friends and family.

"He will be sadly missed by us all.

"Fly high Johnny, we love you.”

Georgia Wildman, 30, of Mornington Road, Loughton, is charged with murdering John and is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 8 July).

Police enquiries are ongoing and they're continuing to appeal for anyone with information on this incident to get in touch.
