Family pays tribute to ‘loving son, brother and father’

The family of the 30-year-old man who died in Chelmsford on Tuesday have paid tribute him, saying he will ‘be forever in their hearts’.

Kieran Shepherd, 30, died after a serious assault in Chelmsford on October 15.

Emergency services were called to Meadgate Avenue at around 12.30pm.

Sadly, Kieran died at the scene.

A man, 19, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday (October 16) and remains in custody.

In a police update on Friday evening (18 October), they say two more men have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The suspects are aged 19 and 20.

Detective Inspector Lydia George said: “These arrests are the result of hundreds of officer hours since Tuesday.

I’d like to thank every member of the public who has contacted us with information about this incident too. All this plays a part in securing justice for Kieran.

Our enquiries will continue while these three men are held in custody.”

Kieran’s family have said: “Kieran was a kind and loving son, brother, and father, his loss has left a massive hole in the lives of his family and friends.

“Our lives will never be the same without him, he will be forever in our hearts.

Essex police urge anyone with more information to come forward as the murder investigation continues.
