The family of a man who died after a crash in Loughton earlier this year have paid tribute, calling him a “devoted family man” and a "true gentleman"

47 year old Mark Tuthill was hit by a black Mercedes S350 in Alderton Hill, Loughton, at around 2:30pm on March 10 as he was crossing the road.

He suffered a broken leg and was treated in hospital. He died on Apirl 20.

Mark’s family described him as “a very devoted family man who loved spending time with his sister, nephew and nieces.”

He's said to have been a “true gentleman” and “very kind and loving and always smiling and laughing.” He “touched the heart of everyone he met.”

Mark was a passionate West Ham dan who never missed a game.

The family say they “miss him so much” and Mark “will leave a huge void in so many people’s lives”.

A 62 year old from Chingford is helping police with their investigation into whether Mark's death was caused by careless driving.

Officers are trying to trace the driver of a silver Mercedes GLA that was driving behind a bin lorry on Alderton Hill at the time of the crash.
