Family appeal after man seriously injured in Colchester

The family of a man who was found seriously injured in Colchester are appealing for the public’s help to find out what happened to him.
Officers were called to Museum Street, shortly before 3.50am on Saturday 26 July.
They found the teenager with a serious head injury near to the Castle pub. He remains in a serious condition in hospital.
Police CCTV enquiries have confirmed the man was injured between about 2am and 3.50am.
The incident resulted in the victim losing his shirt, which officers have now recovered, and they believe his wallet may have been taken or lost at the time.
In a statement, his family said: “There’s only a short window of time this could have happened – we’re sure someone in Colchester knows something or saw something that can help the police.
“We just want answers. Please speak up if you know what happened.”
Acting Detective Inspector Leila Sandford from Essex Police said: “This investigation has continues to move at pace over the last seven days. We have several lines of enquiry we are exploring, which may be supported if members of the public come forward with information.
“Please get in touch quoting incident number 192 of 26 July.”
