Essex County FA gets ready to celebrate the upcoming Women's World Cup with the Big Football Day Event
With the Women’s World Cup right around the corner, the Essex County FA gears up to celebrate the tournament in style with the Big Football Day Event on July 22nd.
The event, which is an initiative by the Football Association, was launched last week and aims to generate interest in the world cup in local communities by encouraging local clubs to set up festivals and open mornings.
Emma Burden, the Football Development Officer at the Essex County FA says that everyone is excited about the upcoming world cup and is looking forward to the big celebrations.
“We’re supporting Frenford Club in their Big Football Day Celebrations. They’re gonna get a big screen, show the game, have some food, and also have some workshops directed at mums, friends, and aunties who might be considering getting involved with the game.
It’s also very early days as the initiative was launched just last week. We’ve had a few enquires with Romford Women’s Football contact us today and we’re expecting to hear more as clubs start to register for the event.”
