Colchester named most dangerous town for learner drivers
In 2020, the Department for Transport recorded 115,584 road traffic accidents across Great Britain
If you're having driving lessons in Colchester, you are among the most likely in all of Britain to be involved in a road traffic accident.
A new study from the Bill Plant Driving School found that Colchester is the most dangerous region in the U.K. for learner drivers, with 117 road accidents involving drivers with a provisional license since 2019.
The data also shows that the town has 25.20 accidents per 10,000 people with provisional licenses.
Comparatively, Peterborough is the area where learner drivers are the least at risk of a road accident - with 0.57 provisional licence holders involved in road accidents per 10,000.
Colchester was one of only five areas to have over 80 reported road accidents involving learner drivers, with the others being Guildford, Preston, Plymouth, and Birmingham.
