The report confirms the forces policies that prevent corruption are "comprehensive".
A report carried out by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS) inspected the forces Vetting and Counter Corruption Units.
The report acknowledged that the relevant used by Essex Police on vetting are being adopted by other forces in the south east.
“The public can be confident we’re stopping the wrong people joining Essex Police”
Deputy Chief Constable, Andy Prophet.
The Deputy Chief Constable said in the last year that the force had turned away 119 people who didn't meet the '"high standards and values" of Essex Police.
The report by the HMICFRS did find an area for improvement, with a suggestion the Counter Corruption Unit should increase staffing.
This would improve how Essex police collect, assess and investigate counter-corruption intelligence.
the force said that prior to the inspection, they had already decided to invest in this unit, through the creation of a new Prevention and Engagement Team.
