Essex police stop search for missing teenager after body was found

Essex police have confirmed that they've stopped searching for a missing teenage girl after a body was found on Monday

The force were told that seventeen year old Layla Jane Blake was missing at around 4am on Saturday

No identifications taken place yet, but her family have been informed

A spokesperson said: "We were contacted at about 3.35am on Saturday 10 February with reports a 17-year-old girl, Layla Jean Blake was missing from an address in Southminster, and a missing persons investigation was launched.

"On Monday 12 February, a body was discovered and the search for Layla was suspended.

"Formal identification has yet to take place, but Layla’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.’
