Essex Police officer charged with common assault due in court
The officer was arrested following an incident in Elmstead
A serving Essex Police officer is scheduled to appear in court today (1st December), to face a charge of common assault.
Lee Mullen, a 52-year-old from Elmstead, was arrested on 29th September following reports of an incident on School Road earlier that day.
It is alleged that a woman was pushed to the floor during an argument.
Mullen was off duty at the time of the incident and has since been suspended from his role.
He will appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court today.
