Essex Police are marking National Police Memorial Day )26 September.

A service is being held at Lincoln Cathedral in Lincolnshire to remember fallen colleagues.

Essex Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, Roger Hirst said: "Today is an opportunity to honour and recognise those heroic officers who have paid the ultimate price to protect us. I know every day, police officers, staff and volunteers walk towards danger to help those in need."

Last night, Chelmsford HQ ‘A’ Block was lit up blue to mark the occasion.
