Essex police are on the scene of an incident involving a light aircraft in a field off Pebmarsh Road, Halstead.

Officers, alongside colleagues with the ambulance service and Essex Fire and Rescue Service, first responded to calls shortly before 9.30am this morning (Monday 21 August).

Essex police's response to this incident is ongoing.

Anyone with information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, is being urged to get in contact with the police.

A spokesperson from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said:

"We were called to an incident on Pebmarsh Road in Halstead this morning at 9:22am. On arrival firefighters reported that a light aircraft was on fire"

"Firefighters from Colchester, Halstead and Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service worked to quickly extinguish the fire. The incident was handed over to the police."
