Appeal after teenage boy injured in Chigwell assault and separate robbery reported
Police are appealing for information following two separate incidents in Chigwell on Saturday 5 July, one involving an assault and the other a robbery.
Officers were called shortly before 8.55pm to reports that a 16-year-old boy had sustained a wound to his leg following an incident at an address on Manor Road.
It’s believed a large group of people may have been involved.
In a separate report, detectives are investigating a robbery at Chigwell tube station on High Road, where another 16-year-old boy was approached by three men wearing balaclavas. His phone and money were taken.
Chief Inspector Terry Fisher, District Commander for Epping Forest, said:
“I know these incidents will cause concern among our community, but I have a team of detectives working to identify those involved and to establish if the two incidents are linked.
We’ve increased high-visibility patrols in the area to provide reassurance. If you have concerns or any information, please speak to our officers.”
Police are asking anyone with CCTV, dashcam or phone footage to come forward.
