Police appeal to identify witness of assault in Ongar

Essex police are appealing for the public’s help to identify a man, who supported a victim of an assault in Ongar this week.

Officers are currently investigating the assault which occurred on Cloverly Road in Ongar shortly before 8pm on Tuesday, 23 July.

The victim was assaulted and had her phone damaged close to an alley way leading to the Two Brewers. The victim was helped by a member of the public, who kindly gave her a lift home.

The man sought after is described as white, with an Essex accent, bald and walking a German Shepherd style dog. He drove a Nissan. Investigating officers are looking to speak to this witness, who may be able to assist with this investigation.

No arrests have been made at this stage and enquiries are ongoing.
