"Traders have described it as a menace, to me"

Anna Firth represents Southend West:

"This came to my attention last summer, when the Police seized 400 industrial cannisters of Nitrous Oxide from Southend seafront, on one day. Traders have described it as a menace, to me".

"At the Notting-Hill Carnival this year, the local council collected over 12 thousand Nitrous Oxide cannisters- with this weighing in at around 13 tonnes.

"Obviously there's going to be some exemptions"

"I'm particularly pleased to the see the Government upping the fine to 14 years for supply and production of this. Obviously there's going to be some exemptions- it's used in hospitals and ice cream parlours, as well
