Essex man charged with child sex offences

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward

A man from Shoeburyness has been charged with five sexual offences involving children.

​Detectives investigating non-recent sexual abuse have been investigating offences reported to have occurred between 2009 and 2011 in the Southend district.

Now, 42-year-old Michael Binder of Bournes Green Chase in Shoeburyness has been charged with two counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, two counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 15, and one count of engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 15.

He will next appear at Southend-on-Sea Magistrates’ Court on Monday 6 January.
