A man accused of murdering three people in 2019 has denied the charge, but pled guilty to manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility at Ipswich Crown Court. Danny Gibson, 35, his 31-year-old brother Jason Gibson, and Richard Booth, 35, were stabbed to death in Colchester, Essex on October 5, 2019.

The Gibson brothers were found unresponsive at their home in Wellesley Road, with an inquest recording that Jason died of a stab wound to the neck while Danny died of stab wounds to the neck and chest.

Mr Booth was found unresponsive in a nearby vehicle, with an inquest recording that he died of stab wounds to the neck and head.

Essex Police said Saunders was the uncle of the Gibson brothers and was also known to Mr Booth but was not related to him.

The 34-year-old defendant, of Bounstead Road, Colchester, denies their murders. Judge Martyn Levett adjourned Friday’s hearing until January 17 while prosecutors consider whether the pleas are acceptable.
