Essex locals invited to sustainable festival in Colchester today
There are stalls sharing ideas on repurposing, redistributing and of course recycling
A free festival is being held in Essex to educate locals on how to live a more sustainable life.
Colchester Lower Castle Park will be filled with stalls showcasing ideas and advice on how to make little and even big changes towards a more eco friendly life.
There is even advice on transport changes, with electric scooter, bikes and cars being showcased.
The festival has been largely organised by Malcolm Laquis-Alden, who sadly can't attend due to a positive Covid-19 test, but has a team hoping to help make the county more eco conscious.
Clare Smith has heled to put today together as well, and will even be reading a poem, she told Greatest Hits Essex about its purpose:
"Its about doing more than the recycling we do now. I think people have got stuck on recycling and maybe riding a bike and they want to know more, they want to see ideas and speak to people.
"From clothes swapping stalls, to a tent for children to create things from cartons.
"Its a really practical thing, where you can go having had a great day out with the family but brimming with ideas about eco friendly ideas you might have been a bit stuck about."
It is a free event and people can pop by from 10am-6pm, more information on the event can be found here.
