Essex drug dealers jailed after £5.9m of cocaine seized
Police recoverd 76kg of cocaine while tracking the pair
Two men have been jailed for a combined 30 years after supplying several kilograms of cocaine to organised drug dealing groups across Essex and London.
Police recovered 76 kilos of the Class A drugs while tracking 47 year old Christopher Low from Chipping Ongar and 52 year old Michael Henson, from Harlow between May and September last year.
Low organised and arranged collection of the drugs with help from Henson, who had access to large sums of cash to pay for the deals.
On September 8 Low was stopped with a suitcase he'd picked up from Brentford. It was found to contain 40kg of cocaine with a street value of £3.2m.
Henson became violent towards officers as he was arrested outside his home the same day.
37kg of cocaine was found hidden in a garden shed, along with cannabis and mephadrone.
Low and Henson were subsequently charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs, possessing criminal property and producing class B drugs.
They pleaded guilty at Chelmsford Crown Court in October 2021 and were jailed for 16 years and 14 years respectively today.
Andrew Tickner, from the Organised Crime Partnership - a join unit run by the Met Police and National Crime Agency said: “Low and Henson oversaw a criminal enterprise which resulted in large amounts of cocaine ending up on our streets.
“Class A drugs like cocaine have no place in our society, where they cause exploitation and suffering. Through this strong partnership between the NCA and the Met, we will continue to pursue organised criminals like Low and Henson and bring them to justice.”
