Plans for a new investment fund in Essex could help create around 15 hundred jobs and a thousand new homes.

The County Council says it wants to set up a new fund worth 100 million pounds for investment in the county over the next 20 years.

It says the money will be spent on things like green growth, transport, education and good jobs.

Following initial seed funding from the Council, they say the fund will eventually become self-financing. This will allow the council to continue delivering projects that the property market will not deliver or may not deliver to such high standards.

The council says it will be a revolving fund investing only within Essex. All net income and the capital receipts will be reinvested into future fund activity.
