Essex City to have its own Monopoly board next year
The board would feature the best bits from the seaside city
Southend-on-Sea will be the theme of a monopoly board coming out next year.
It could be full of iconic locations from across the city.
Leader of Southend City Council, Daniel Cowan, said:
"We have been chosen to have our own Monopoly board, where each square will be an iconic street, building or institution."
He said that when locals have a family games night they will "not be arguing over who is buying Mayfair, they will be arguing over who is going to get Kursaal, who is going to get the Pier."
"We think it will be fantastic for local people, but also an incredible piece of memorabilia."
