Essex Police launch investigation after Chelmsford attempted murder
A man in his 20s was found with "potentially life-threatening" injuries
Police in Essex have launched an investigation following the attempted murder of a man in Chelmsford.
Officers first received reports of an incident taking place at a property Charnwood Avenue in the south of the town at around 9pm on Friday evening (June 8th).
When responders arrived on the scene, they found a man in his 20s with serious injuries requiring immediate medical treatment.
The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment for his wounds and currently remains in hospital in a stable condition. However, medical professionals have said that his injuries are "potentially life-threatening".
Investigations into the incident were opened and police are now appealing for anyone with information on the attack to come forward.
Specifically, anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area, or was in the area at the time of the incident is being urged to reach out as quickly as possible.
Speaking on the case, Detective Inspector Guy Turnbull, who is leading the investigation for Essex Police said that the force does not believe there are any other linked attacks.
"We know this incident will be concerning to people and we are working round the clock to understand what has happened and find the person responsible," he said.
"We believe this is an isolated incident. However, we want to hear from anyone who was in the area. Any piece of information could be vital in helping us with our investigation."
