An eight-year-old girl with complex health issues has made hundreds of Christmas Baubles to raise money for charity.

Erin Sadler made and sold 450 colourful baubles gems and raised £1,204 for charity.

The total will be split between East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice (EACH) and the Rainbow Trust.

Her mum Helen set up ‘Erin’s Emporium’ outside their home in Colchester, and together they sold the festive baubles, as well as crochet angels, embroidery, jewellery, and other Christmas decorations.

The original plan was to make 30 baubles, but in the end, they produced 450 in 21 colours, which were sold for £5 each.

Helena said: ‘Erin made them all, cutting out sponges and decorating them with glitter and diamantes.’

‘It was a truly special, perfect day and I’m so grateful to everyone who turned up, donated so generously and spent time and money with us.’

Helen said: ‘Erin’s a very brave, special little girl and I’m so proud of her.’

At the end of the day, Erin received a special visit from Father Christmas, who stopped by for a personal thank you.

Helen said: ‘Erin had a huge surprise when she was Santa. He gave her the best sack of presents imaginable.’

Erin requires 24-hour care and is supported by EACH. They make weekly trips to EACH’s hospice at The Treehouse in Ipswich.

As Helen counted the money raised, Erin had a snowball fight with two nurses from EACH.

Helen said: ‘The value of that support is so valuable to me – it far exceeds the value of the money – and hopefully this donation will help families like ours’
