Drug dealer who exploited vulnerable Braintree man jailed
Ahmed Ozyoruk ran a county lines drugs operation from the home of his victim
A drug dealer who took over the home of a vulnerable man in Braintree has been jailed for six and a half years.
Ahmed Ozyoruk was running a county lines drugs operation selling crack cocaine and heroin in Essex, London and Bedfordshire.
He was arrested at the home of a vulnerable man after police carried out a welfare check.
When police arrived at the address they found Ozyoruk and another man, who were both much younger than the tenant.
Officers discovered a mobile phone which they were able to link to the drugs line.
22 year old Ozyoruk, of no fixed address in Colchester, admitted to two counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
He was sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court.
The second man has been released under investigation.
Detective Constable Jonathan Stephenson, of Essex Police, said: “This was Ozyoruk’s third strike, and the sentence handed to him reflects the severity of his offending.
“Unfortunately for him, by the time he was arrested, we had already built a case against him which ultimately meant he had very little option but to admit the charges levelled against him and accept his sentence.
“We have been consistently clear that drug life doesn’t pay in Essex. Those who believe they can evade the law and sell illicit drugs to vulnerable people in our communities are mistaken."
