Police investigate drink spiking report in Chelmsford

Essex police are investigating a drink spiking report made on Saturday evening (18 February).

The incident is thought to have taken place during the previous evening at a venue in Chelmsford.

Police have said their enquiries are ongoing and they are doing an extensive review of CCTV from the venue.

They're also taking accounts from staff and others who were with the victim - a woman in her 20s, as well as sending samples from the woman for forensic examination.

In a statement, police acknowledged that they were finding out if officers had any contact with the victim on the night in question.
