Firefighters urge people to have home safety checks after Stansted fire
A dog was rescued from the fire yesterday
A dog has been rescued after a fire in Stansted saw a whole first floor and roof go up in flames.
Fire crews from Stansted, Newport, Great Dunmow and Chelmsford were called to Felted Crescent yesterday afternoon after neighbours reported seeing smoke coming from the roof of a semi-detached house.
The fire was extinguished by 5pm and an investigation into the cause of the fire will be taking place.
It's prompted firefighters to urge home owners to have an online home safety check to ensure their property is as safe from fires as possible.
