Hunt for dog owner after toddler bitten in Essex park

They are appealing for information

Essex police are trying to track down the owner of a small dog, after a young child was bitten at a Southend park.

A girl, about to turn 2 years old was playing in the Jones Memorial Ground play park around 4.05 pm on the 25th of November when a dog bit her face, drawing blood.

The toddler's father chased the dog across the park but lost sight of it and could not find it, or its owner.

The dog is described as being small, but the breed is unknown.

Essex's police are asking anyone with information on the incident to get in touch. This includes CCTV, dash cam, or other footage.

A crime reference number will be needed when providing information. Please use 42/288050/22.
