Dispersal order in place in parts of Essex
Essex Police have put a dispersal order in place across parts of Basildon, Thurrock and Rochford
It's due to issues relating to large numbers of people on the roads in connection with horse and traps.
The order was put in place at 11am yesterday and will run until 11am tomorrow.
Inspector David Darnell said:
This order gives officers the power to order a group of two or more people to leave the area if they are committing, or likely to commit, a criminal offence.
This won’t affect people going about their lawful business, but it is vital that our roads are safe and free flowing for all and we will act promptly to deal with any issues or concerns.
Officers will be in the area to ensure this order is complied with and everyone is able to go about their day.
