Cyclist seriously injured in Southend crash

A cyclist is in a life threatening condition in hospital after a crash in Southend.
Officers were called to the A127 close to the junction with Victoria Avenue at around 2pm today after a collision involving a car and a bicycle.
The cyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police say the A127 is likely to remian closed at the junctions with Priory Crescent and Manners Way for several hours.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.
