Cyclist taken to hospital with serious injuries after crash with police car

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash with a police car in Southend yesterday (May 22).

The bicycle collided with the police car, which was responding to a call, on Prittlewell Chase near Southend Hospital at around 2pm in the afternoon.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and those with CCTV or dashcam footage to get in touch, as the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
