Two arrested after fatal A130 crash near Rayleigh

Men aged 23 and 24 held on suspicion of causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving.

Two men have been arrested following a fatal collision on the A130 near the Rayleigh Spur roundabout in the early hours of Monday morning (1 September).

Emergency services were called shortly after 4.15am to reports of a crash involving two vehicles.

The drivers, men aged 23 and 24, have both been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. They remain in police custody.

All roads in the area have since reopened.

Essex Police said they are not in a position to release further details at this time but will provide updates when possible.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
