With the countdown on for the Women's Tour stages in Essex, it's expected the cycling race will be a welcome boost for the local economy.

The first stage of the race next month will kick off in Colchester, before day two takes place in Harlow.

Yesterday (Friday 20 May) an event was held, inviting people to take part in an 18 mile cycle from Ipswich to Bury, getting a taste of what the professionals feel.

They started at The Bildeston Crown in Ipswich, where breakfast was ready. The ride finished in Bury St Edmunds, with refreshments waiting for them at the Angel Pub.
