Tendring District Council (TDC) has said it is currently running low on tests due to a "fantastic response" to the asymptomatic community testing site at Clacton Leisure Centre.

According to the authority, almost 4,000 tests have been collected and over 600 results have been returned.

It says the low stock is only temporary due to the high demand and it's hoped they will replenish it "shortly",

The shortage comes just days after the community testing site for people without symptoms opened.

TDC said in a statement on Twitter: "Testing is currently still open for all - residents can still pick up a home testing kit, though stocks are low, and also still return completed tests back to the drop off point as soon as possible, for it to be collected by a dedicated courier service (midday Monday-Thursday)."

Full details on community testing can be found on TDC's website, anyone with symptoms must self isolate a book a test here.
