Colchester Dentist Practice expands as pandemic effects continue to impact services

Together Dental is has opened it expansion at Colchester Country Park as they celebrate officially joining one of the UK’s leading dental groups.
The new practice represents an investment of 600k and boasts the most sophisticated technology available in a local community practice.
They will now be able to offer orthodontic services as well as things like cosmetic dental treatments.
Together Dental employs around 150 people over its three practices in Colchester.
Dental practices and the public's dental health continues to deal with the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic and lockdowns.
With surgeries closed for several months last year, waiting lists grew and issues people faced became more specific and often complex.
Chief Operating Officer Steve Williams tells Greatest Hits Radio they are working hard to support people following these issues:
"There are two things we have seen following the pandemic and delayed appointments.
"The first is around gum health, so if people are suffering from gum issues and bleeding gums please book in with e hygienist who can help you.
"The second is that when people are stressed they tend to comfort eat, so the level of sugary food people have eaten has increased.
"We have noticed people are presenting with decay because of this. Remember it isn't the level of sugar it is the frequency you have it that will see an increase risk of holes in your teeth.
"All our team have been working really hard to get to our patients, but we aren't at full capacity yet. This is because we are following the restrictions laid out by the Chief Dental Officer, because we want to make sure its a safe environment for everyone."

Mayor of Colchester, Cllr Robert Davidson and The Honourable Will Quince, Member of Parliament for Colchester attended the opening ceremony this afternoon.
