Man suffers serious facial injuries after attack in Colchester pub car park

A man has been attacked in a pub car park in Colchester and suffered serious injuries to his face.

The man, aged in his late teens, had got out of a taxi in the car park of the Leather Bottle pub, in Shrub End Road, at about 9.45pm last night (9 September), when he was assaulted by two men.

During the assault, he was attacked with a glass bottle and was also punched.

He managed to flee the men and went to the pub for help and emergency services were called.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Essex Police has said there is no suggestion the incident was in any way connected to the pub.

The men left the scene in a Range Rover 4x4 which was either brown or bronze.

One man is described as white, aged in his late 20s and was wearing dark-coloured clothing.

The second man is white, bald, aged in his mid-30s and was also wearing dark clothing.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has information on it, or has dashcam footage of it should submit a report online or use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm.

Alternatively, people can call police on 101 and cite incident 1494 of September 9.
