Colchester Pride Returns for 2021

Colchester Pride returns today to Firstsite after last years event was cancelled.

The event has a full line up this year and will include performances from ABBA Magic and RuPaul's Drag Race's Asttina Mandella will be headlining the event.

There will also be performances from plenty of other musicians, drag artists and comedian.

The event was planned to return for their 5th annual pride last year but it was cancelled due to coronavirus restrictions.

Ben Powell, committee member for Colchester Pride told me about the measures they will be taking to make sure the event is as covid safe and enjoyable as possible, such as being tested 48 hours ahead of attending.

“Encouraging people to make sure we do not forget ourselves, whilst measures have relaxed, we are still in a pandemic, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate and uplift.”
