Plans for Colchester's fifth McDonald's restaurant are set to be voted on today (17 June).

Schroder UK Real Estate Fund has applied for planning permission for the restaurant and drive thru at Turner Rise Retail Park in Petrolea Close.

It would be the fast food chain's fifth site in the town, with three of the existing restaurants located within 5km of the proposed new site.

But, there have been many objections to the plans with people raising concerns about the impact it will have on traffic in the area, as previously reported by Greatest Hits Radio Essex.

The proposed opening year is 2022.
