Firstsite has announced its first pop-up ice rink to be based on its lawn in the run up to Christmas.

It'll open on 4th December along with stalls that will sell seasonal treats until 23rd December.

The museum is planning to reopen the day before the ice rink welcomes its first skaters and will also be hosting Christmas films in its cinema.

Firstsite Director, Sally Shaw MBE, said: "At Firstsite we are determined that we will always find a Covid-19 safe and creative solution to any situation – and this festive season is no exception.

"Firstsite is always first for fun, festivities, food and the feel-good factor, and an ice rink is a brilliant way to get seasonal celebrations under way, to have fun with family and friends, enjoy some exercise and take a break from the shopping."
