People can now have their say on a new Cultural Strategy for Colchester.

The new strategy will be in place until 2030, and aims to develop the cultural sector in Colchester, increase participation and make sure it is accessible for everyone.

It will encompass the borough’s "diverse cultural landscape" and will include the arts, creative industries, heritage and the public realm, and will also link to green spaces, tourism and events.

Councillor Darius Laws, Portfolio Holder for Economy, Business and Heritage for Colchester Borough Council said:

"Colchester already has a renowned and established arts and cultural community.

"Our aim is to support this already thriving sector to grow and develop new talent for the future.

"It’s vital that we consult with our residents to take into consideration their views and ideas by working together as one community.

"Colchester is packed with culture, and I'm delighted to support its continued growth and enhancement."
